We waved goodbye to Finland and arrived in Otepaa, Estonia Thursday afternoon. The drive took about 8 hours with a 2 hour ferry ride over the Gulf of Finland to Tallinn, Estonia's capital city. Otepaa is about 3 hours southeast of Tallinn. We were welcomed by Dasha, Chandra and Lenny who got here a few days before us.

We are staying at an old hotel about 20 minutes from the race site. The rooms are okay but the food isn't very good and the lukewarm showers aren't much fun. The room we eat in is always cold so wear winter jackets and toques at meals. Apparently we are switching hotels tomorrow so fingers crossed that the next one will be better!
We have been skiing every day on the race courses. I really like the sprint course. There are two climbs at the start, a downhill, a little hill then a long double pole finish. The 5km course is very tough with a massive climb at the back of the course. Skiing with all the top racers has been very exciting!

The distance races were this morning and afternoon. Chandra, Heidi, Lenny and I were the only Canadians not racing so we went for a ski then watched the women's race after. The men started at 2:00 so I am watching their race on Eurosport as I type. It has been really exciting watching the races and the atmosphere at the site was amazing with all the enthusiastic Estonian fans.

Tomorrow is the sprint and I'm stoked to get out there and race!
