Welcome to my blog! I try to keep this updated with training and racing news as I pursue my Olympic dream.

I would like to thank the Alberta World Cup Society for funding the Academy program. Also, a big thanks to my awesome sponsors and of course my family who have supported me every step of the way!

I'm always looking for new sponsors so if you are interested or know of anyone who might be then contact me at alyssonmarshall(at)gmail.com for my sponsorship package.

National Development Team Announcement

In exciting news, I have been selected to be on the Senior National Development Team! It all started last January at the World U23 Championships when I placed 13th in the classic sprint. In August, the news broke that three Russians were caught taking EPO the previous season. I was shocked when I found out that one of them was Nina Rysina, the winner of the U23 sprint. FIS recently decided that Rysina would be disqualified from the race. This means that I will move into 12th spot at the U23 Champs, and a top 12 placing is one of the criteria for selection to the National Development Team. You can read the CCC press release here. I am going to continue training and racing with the World Cup Academy for the rest of the season so the selection just means I will be able to access more support.

We arrived Silver Star on Tuesday. The skiing here is fabulous and it finally feels like real winter. All the Canadian teams are here as well as many Americans so it's going to be an action packed weekend! It's nice to be back near home and I spent yesterday afternoon hanging out with my mom and visiting my grandma in Vernon. I'm planning on doing both races this weekend: a 10km skate on Saturday and skate sprints on Sunday.
